MSSQL Wizard thresholds

Post by Eagle »

Hi there,

Hope someone can give some clue about the default thresholds from the wizard install for server and database.
All is running fine , no errors whatsoever..

But for instance the Log Flush Wait Time is accumulating and until the next restart of the instance it keeps growing.
I saw that its the total amount of waits. So that explains, but gives no clue how to set the threshold. What is acceptable?
What makes this necessary to monitor?

With the wizard off the shelf we get some criticals, but we need some reference points (guidelines) to what is critical.
I know it depends on serversize, activity and intensive use, and users of course.

Thanks in advance for any help

Nagios XI is installed on a Linux Red Hat CentOS distribution, which works just fine :D

Hi @Eagle, thanks for reaching out.

We welcome any feedback on the default values for the MSSQL Wizards (and any other wizards) and will gladly modify the default values, if we get feedback.

Any SQL Admins out there with input?
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
