Check_Mrtg not working

After installing the Mrtg plug-in and applying the configuration as in the documentation, I got the message below. any idea?

check_mrtgtraf: Unable to process MRTG log file

mrtg is a nagios-independent application and requires separate configuration

What is the result of running:
