Unable to connect to host WARNING: Skipping public@xxxxx::::3

Post by patrickm1 »

I have been trying to connect to a host using the router/switch config option. It gives me an error each time WARNING: Skipping public@xxxxx::::3 as no info could be retrieved. I am not using public as the community string as I'm using SNMPV3. I can connect to all other hosts that use the same template just fine. Is there a config file within the server that may have held on to an old config that needs to be deleted. I was able to connect to it at one point but accidently hit the cancel back button. Now I can't get it to connect. I've verified the username and password and it's all correct. I've check firewall rules and I do see the traffic passing without and dropped packets. Any thoughts?

Hey @patrickm1

There shouldn't be a config file that you would need to delete information from to be able to connect to this switch again. What version of XI are you using and what distro? In older versions of XI I have noticed an issue where a phantom host would be created that would cause issues. Weirdly the only thing that would get rid of this phantom host after trying to delete it in the CCM would be to fully restart XI.
