Hi,

I hope u’re doing great
well,

I installed NSClient++ on my windows machine (the icon exists but they tell me that nsclient++ system tray is offline, that is the first question )

1) Considering nagios server (I’m working on ubuntu) ! I installed nrpe-2.12 and the result was : check_nrpe had been added into /usr/local/nagios/libexec, knowing that It wasn’t exisiting before ( and I could became crasy before installing it) so that is good
2) in windows.cfg I’ve defined nrpe service
3) in commands.cfg I’ve defined two commands :
-nrpe with ssh
-nrpe without ssh

well the communication is established between my nagios server and my windows machine (for example I’m able to know the version of my nsclient or the CPU load of the windows machine )

so after that, sould restart my nagios but here is the problem : the second question

/etc/init.d/nagios restart
Running configuration check... CONFIG ERROR! Restart aborted. Check your Nagios configuration.

>>>> There are too many files , ans I don’t know which one to verify and from where the mistake could come !!!
I'm so confused

Sorry my english is little bad

thank youuu

Hello slimix00,

You can verify your config by using:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
This will provide some useful information on tracking down issues with your config files.

Also, could you post what version of Nagios you are running?
