Return code of 127 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing

Hi,
I have tried this setup 3 times now and I always have the same problem.
When I go to http://localhost/nagios and login.
The host (localhost) is considered down will all services listed as;
(Return code of 127 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing)

Any ideas?

Which setup guide are you following? Did you install the nagios-plugins package as well as the nagios package?

Need some more info... return code 127 means that it can't find the plugins required to execute checks, so they are probably either missing or installed in the wrong location or something. They could also just have incorrect permissions on the directories.

Actually it turns out I was using the wrong install guide. I was using the Ubuntu Quickstart guide but I should have been using this one.
