What's the difference between "Core config" and "Configure"?

What's the difference between "Core config" and "Configure"?

About alert notification, what's the difference between "Core config" and "Configure"? (see attached file)

I didn't setup Core config notification, alert notification still will be send to me.
what conditions should I setup Core config notification (or something like that)?

These are just 2 different ways to setup the same items.

The Core Config Manager however will give a much more granular view with many more options than the easier to use Configure screen.

If I setup the same items using Core Config Manager, will I see that items data on the other one's GUI?

Yes, however some of the more advanced options won't be visible under the "Configure".
