Reset statistics

Post by hakkintek »

Hi, we have a test system that will be held accountable for uptime beginning Sept-5. As a test platform, we have obviously been messing about, trying to learn the system. Our reports now show 90% host availability. We need to reset it so that it will start with 100% on the day the system is needed. I saw a page that said to stop the nagios service and delete /usr/local/nagios/var/status.dat, but status.dat is removed when the service is stopped. Is there something I am missing? Thanks!

For reporting this would be a database items.

The best thing to do would be to go to Admin -> Performance Settings -> Databases Tab
Set
Max State History Age = 1

This will delete all records older than 1 day the next time the database cleanup runs (usually every 5 minutes)

Then you can restore the setting to 730
