Email notification wierdness

Post by hudbaylicensing »

Having some odd behavior and I cannot figure out why.

When we first setup Nagios XI we went all out in setting up notifications - we then trimmed down what we were being notified on because we found the amount of email coming in was too much to sort through...

Now as it stands for certain of our servers, we would receive an email from Nagios XI that we setup in Admin -> Manage Email Settings, we turned off the notifications for some of these servers but sometimes still receive notifications from nagios@<machinename>.<domainname> instead of the Nagios XI setup in the Manage Email Settings section. Wondering why this is happening if we have notifications turned off for these servers and where is this other email address coming from?

Hope this makes sense....

This can happen if you have contacts/users that have something other than xi_host_notification_handler or xi_service_notificatio_handler specified in Configure -> CCM -> Contacts -> Modify (the contact receiving this message) -> Host/Service command
