unable to apply configuration

Post by jazzadmin »

I am unable to apply the configuration after adding a host or service. Please refer to the screenshot below for details and suggest a solution to resolve the issue.

Hi @jazzadmin,

If you go to the Configure -> CCM -> Hosts, does the host ecweb-pd02 exist? If not, you'll want to remove it from the service definition of Apache_Status.

If that doesn't do the trick, attaching the config files for this service (and potentially the host if it does exist) would be helpful. You could also try rolling your config back to a good snapshot and retry adding your hosts / services, making sure that every required field is filled.

Thank you!

Hi,

The host ecweb-pd02 has been removed from CCM, and when trying to apply the configuration after adding the host/services, the attached error occurs. Please look into this and suggest the best way to resolve it, as our alerting tasks are currently on hold. Additionally, the Apache_Status service was regenerated after being deleted.

Did the configuration apply correctly after removing ecweb-pd02 and before adding the "host/services"? The best way to pinpoint the issue is to roll your system back to a good snapshot and then incrementally add your desired hosts/services, applying the configuration as you go. Once you narrow down the bad config to a specific host and/or service, we can take a look at the culprit config(s) if you are willing to share (either in a reply or a pm) and try to determine what's not right.

If you would like a quicker resolution, you can always open a support ticket.

Thank you!

Remove ecweb-pd02 from the Apache_Status service definition.
Assuming there are other checks on that host, I'd recreate the host definition and then remove the host from the service definitions, after applying the config and waiting for alerts.
