Hello:
I have used and administered several linux flavors
RH/CentOS, Ubuntu, Mint etc...
I am curious.... what is currently the "easiest " distro to install and configure Nagios from?
(as well as suporting packages)
I know this is probably a matter of personal preference as opposed ot objective measure...
but for the sake of this posting... Assume that we are looking for a single box solution to manage and monitor
400-500 devices.
You advice is appreciated

The Distro which most of us use at Nagios is Cent OS. Both Cent OS 5 and 6, and RHEL 5 and 6 are supported by our team.
Of course within these you may chose to use the VM image, or a dedicated system depending on your infrastructure and environment size.
