Error on scheduled backups

Started last week getting an error regarding scheduled backups. Error said to check scheduledbackups.log. No errors in the log. I increased the logging to debug, and scheduled a backup. Nothing wrote to the log file. Got the same failure email. Where else would it write to for scheduledbackups?

Is XI using postgresql or mysql?
