NagiosXI NSCA/NRDP not working to second NagiosXI #2

Post by SDohmen »

A long time ago i made a message that i could not get the NSCA or NRDP communication to work between 2 centrals.

Today after a long time i finally upgraded both to the same build (3.3) and i tried again. This was mainly because the 2 build differences before why it stopped working.

Anyway i re-enabled the nsca communication from our main central to our development. I changed all settings to be the same so this could not cause any issues. However i did not recieve a thing on the development. After some searching around i noticed the following lines in the messages log:

Oct 3 10:18:22 central kernel: send_nsca[3284]: segfault at 7fffb4c9c000 ip 0000000000401c48 sp 00007fffb4c98190 error 6 in send_nsca[400000+5000]
Oct 3 10:18:43 central kernel: send_nsca[3436]: segfault at 7fffcf265000 ip 0000000000401c48 sp 00007fffcf2600d0 error 6 in send_nsca[400000+5000]

During the upgrade i didn't see any problems and also on the development i didnt had any problems besides the ajaxterm ones.

What can i do to make this work again? I need NSCA or NRDP to send the data from the main central to the development with the normal tools available. I know there is a post on this forum where i described a way to make it work but that has the disadvantage that it will stop the freshness check while it works.

Have you tried using NRDP? I see the segfault you posted about for NSCA but NRDP should just use apache and php...
