When you run "Apply Configuration", it looks like Nagios is running a script on the server that has the server contact itself. As we are using our own authentication, it seems to be redirecting request such as this one our authentication site. While we are workign with our authentication team to see if we can have any requests from the local server be excluded from authentication, it would be nice to know what other scripts might do something similar so if need be we setup file exclusions.

Re: Nagios Contacting itself?
All I can think of off the top of my head are the requests to localhost for NagiosQL so the address is
http(s)://localhost/nagiosql/
http(s)://localhost/nagiosql/
