Acknowledgements comment with national characters - no way?

Post by kariroman »

Two problems -
1. If I try to use national (Icelandic) characters in acknowledgement comments I´m getting error message if the first character is Icelandic og just part of comment before first Icelandic letter meets in the comment.
2. It´s not possible to add comments using Nagiosxi envinronment, just delete them. One has to go to Nagios Core to add comments - would be nice to add this possibility in XI as well.

1. Interesting - we'll have to look into that. (I don't think we've really tested non-English character sets before.)
2. You might be interested in the "Object Notes" component found on http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... nt/details

I find out that I was able to enter Icelandic comments on some of the initial releases but missed the possibility during upgrades to R1.3, not sure when.

This could be because of the use of the htmlentities() function that we added in 1.3 to add protection against security hacks. My guess is that functions is altering non-English characters.

As for adding new comments in XI instead of Core, we are working on that. There are still a few screens that use the old Nagios Core interface. We're gradually upgrading all screens to make use of newer, more friendlier UIs.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
