Hello,

We have used Nagios XI demo version and it expired few months ago. I stopped Nagios services after the demo period ended. we recently bought the license for Nagios XI and now I am trying to get to the GUI and I am getting this error - "DB Connect Error [nagiosxi]: Database connection failed". I restarted the services on the console and when I type "service postgresql restart", I get a failed response. Attached is the screenshot of the console.

Thank you,
Deepika Manem

Hi Deepika Manem,

I'm just a nagios user so it might be best to wait for a reply from one of the moderators/devs (hope they don't mind me posting this), but I believe paying customers have their own support forum located at;

Good luck.

Kind Regards,

gshergill

Can you check the free space on the hard drive?

Code: Select all

df -h

Hello,

The hard drive has no free space left. How do you want me to make more room on the hard drive? What can I delete?

I appreciate your help. As gshergill mentioned I could post at the Customer forum. Do you want to continue this thread on this forum or the customer forum? Please let me know.

Thank you,
Deepika Manem

If you can send me a PM with your customer ID I'll get your permissions added to the Customer forum.

As for freeing up hard drive space, I'd take a look at clearing some of the following files to clear some space. Don't delete anything you think you need, but these files can be large on some systems.

/var/spool/mail/root
/var/log/httpd/access_log*
/var/log/httpd/error_log.*

If you're using our VM, you'll want to look at the following document to allocate more hard drive space, but this will have to be done after some space is cleared.
