Details:
Nagios Version: Nagios v3.3
NagVis Version: NagVis v1.7
Infrastructure: vSphere v4.1 virtual machine (1vCPU, 2GB RAM)


When we reboot our Nagios XI server and it comes back all the icons within NagVis are blue (see screenshot 1).
Also after a reboot the hosts have a gray background (see screenshot 2).
A workarround is to apply the configuration within the Nagios Core Configurator. Then all is repaired and works.
In screenshot 3 you can see that the service mentoined in screenshot 1 is there and worked with Nagios.

We've got 2 Nagios-servers and both servers have this problem.

What to do?

Have you offloaded your MySQL server? If so you may need to reconfigure

No, MySQL runs locally.

I believe we may be getting in a race condition on reboot that is starting the nagios process before ndo2db.

I have only seen this in one other instance and it was worked around by adding the following to
/etc/rc.local

It's been a long time since a paided attention to Nagios due to other work.
I've tried your workarround but it doesn't work. Blue bottons are staying after a reboot or cold startup.

And post them here or pm them to one of the nagios support staff on the forums here. There is a good chance we need to get a longer delay on the restart of nagios after system boot.

In the meantime we've downloaded a fresh install of Nagios because we wanted to run on a x64 system.
