Configuring Nagios behind NAT

Post by wipro-cloud-services »

Team,
We are trying to monitor servers behind NAT in our environment. We have installed NSClient++ in the client server which is behing NAT. When we do PING command from client to our Nagios server, connection is successful, also ports 5666 and 5667 are listening. But when we Run the configuration wizard, we get "CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds" error.
Please check and advice.

This would be a communication error with the nsclient agent, I doubt it has anything to do with nat. Have you followed this document for configuring nsclient for nrpe connections? Have you set a password in your nsc.ini?

What version of nsclient are you using? (we suggest 0.3.9 from our windows wizard)
Could you post your nsc.ini/nsclient.ini here? (obfuscate any sensitive information)
