Is there any way to disable service flapping alerts

Post by srikanth.kallu »

Hi,

Is there any way to disable service flapping alerts.

I have disabled them in notification settings, But i still get the service flapping alerts because they are not disabled in CCM.

Now is there any way to disable all the service flapping alerts in CCM other than disable it on each service manually.

Do you mean system wide? You could go to the left side pane Monitoring Info > Process Info and disable Flap Detection.

But for services specifically, if they use a generic service template you could disable it there.

In XI, you can use the bulk modification tool to change this option (among others) system-wide. It requires the enterprise edition, but you can just start a trial of enterprise to access the feature. Go to --> XI --> Configure --> CCM --> Tools --> Bulk Modifications --> Change a Single Config Option --> Flap detection enabled --> "off" --> save.

Okay so you do not have bulk mod's tool, this was added as a part of the Nagios XI 2012 Enterprise edition. So that would be out of the question.
