We have notived that although both NagiosXI and NagiosCore support special characters in user's passwords, there's a mechanism which copies the user credentials from XI to Core, which somehow breaks access to Core features.
We're an enterprise, dealing with enterprise partners and customers & it's really embarrassing to have to tell a customer they have to remove special characters from their password.
Is this something I should "Mantis"?
I don't know what is responsible for the credential exchange, but if I did, I might have a look at fixing it myself, to improve time to fix...
Special Characters In User Passwords
Re: Special Characters In User Passwords
What kind of hosts are you trying to monitor? How did you set up the checks? Did you run one of the pre-installed wizards in XI? Can you give us more details on the issue? Thanks!
I created a new user by going to: Admin->Manage Users->Add New User
and set it up with:
username: user
password: n@gi0s!@#$
I didn't have any issues logging it.
