Want to setup a recurring downtime

Post by itIsMrKevin »

Hi,

I am running Nagios Core 3.2.3. The services for our production mail server are stopped at the same time each morning so a backup can occur. During this time, we always the Nagios emails saying "connection refused" for:
a) IMAP Service
b) HTTPS Test
c) HTTP Test
d) POP Service
e) POPS Service

I would like to stop Nagios from running a check during this time. I logged into the Nagios web GUI.
I saw that I can do the following:
a) Click on "Scheduling Queue"
b) Click on the hyperlink name of the server
c) Click on "Schedule downtime for all services on this host"
Unfortunately, it does not appear that I can schedule a downtime that will last 1 hour and have that downtime repeated everyday. For example, have a downtime for my mailserver that occurs between 4 AM and 5 AM each morning. I read through the "Command Description" box and cannot see a way to do this.

1) Is there anyway to create a 1 hour downtime for all services on a machine that is repeated each day?
NOTE: I would still like to receive a Nagios email alert if the server itself goes down which I believe I would as long as I choose "Schedule downtime for all services on this host" instead of "Schedule downtime for this host"

2) If I cannot do the above, is there some other way that I can tell Nagios to not send me emails for the services for a machine for a 1 hour time period each day?

Thanks in advanced for any help

Scheduling Recurring Downtime is a feature of Nagios XI and not offered in Core by default, however, some users have created addons which may be able to replicate this:
