Dear Team,
I was thinking of this from longtime, but now posting it here..
Currently Nagios has support for different kinds of monitoring..
But, say for example there might be cases where the conenctivity to my remote machine/server is not available. in this case one option would be to generate mails as alerts from this box and receive these mails on my nagios server and convert this as alert.
I am not sure if this feature is already available with nagios. please guide me..
Thanx & Regards,
santu..

Re: Monitoing via mail
I don't believe this exists yet, but you could write a plugin that checks a mailbox and if mail exists sets the check to critical.
