Solaris Monitoring Options

This KB article provides a summary of the monitoring options that are available for Solaris.

 

SNMP

The when installing Solaris 10 or 11, the server installs the SNMP daemon is such a way that is compatible with the Linux SNMP wizard. The Linux SNMP wizard can be used to monitor CPU usage, Memory usage, disk size and running processes.

NRPE

Nagios Remote Plugin Executor (NRPE) can be used with the NRPE Monitoring Wizard in Nagios XI. You will need to install NRPE from source and configure it as per the following documentation.

SSH

Monitoring via SSH can be configured with the SSH Monitoring Wizard in Nagios XI. Please refer to the following documentation for full instructions.

NCPA

Nagios Cross-Platform Agent (NCPA) can be used with the NCPA or Solaris Monitoring Wizard in Nagios XI. You will need to install NCPA on the client as per the following documentation.
