Problem with "contact additive inheritance"

Hi All, I am having a problem with "contact additive inheritance" in Nagios Core 4.4.6. This did work at some time and I do not know with witch release it stopped working. We have a lot of services defined with "contact_groups +<group>" and before this was working fine (adding th...

Re: Setup Nagios with Hp ILO SNMP v3

Hello,

I would recommend using the redfish interface of the iLO instead of SNMP.

I can also recommend the following check for use with iLO (and/or iBMC & iDRAC):
https://github.com/bb-Ricardo/check_redfish

Contact inheritance for service does not work after update

I am having a problem with "contact inheritance" after Update from Core 4.4.5 to 4.4.6. We have a lot of services defined with "contact_groups +<group>" and before this was working fine (adding the group <group> to the list of groups). Now it just replaces the contact_groups with...

Re: Different

Thanks for the feedback.

I will look into using $NOTIFICATIONISESCALATED$ in my notification script (I already have a script for sending notifications in HTML format). This should not be that hard to extend.

By the way, sorry for the short title - pressed "Submit" a bit to fast.

Different

Is it possible to have a different "host_notification_commands/service_notification_commands" for escalations? Example: We have two users (say "dan" & "ken"), both are setup with host- and service-notification commands (notify-host-by-email/notify-service-by-email)....

Re: Is it possible to check web interface login? (Not .htacc

Have you checked http://www.webinject.org/ ?
We are using it here to do some "workflow" checks (login -> check for a string, "click" on a link -> check for a second string, ...).

Re: NCPA - mytoken encryption

We put it in .../private/resource.cfg in a "USER-variable" higher then 10 (in the default configuration, "USER-variables" with an index of 10 or higher are "masked" in the CGI-output. We have it like this: In /etc/nagios/private/resource.cfg: # NCPA Token $USER10$=<host...

Re: nrpe problem on RedHat8 /tmp

It could also be this "feature" of RHEL/CENTOS/... that are using systemd. If a daemon is started from systemd (like NRPE probably is) then each daemon get "their own" tmp. $ ls -pald /tmp/systemd-private-efe0909f6f6643228d757bba32e90eb9-* drwx------ 3 root root 60 Feb 20 13:50 /...

NRPE deprecated in favour of NCPA

As stated in an other topic https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=57960 NRPE is to be deprecated and "replaced" with NCPA. I now have a question regarding pnp4nagios in this context. With NRPE the check command mostly looked like this: check_command check_nrpe!check_netw...
