I got the same thing today. After using the snmpget line I found with check_snmp and adding -vvv that there was a problem with the snmptt.conf file. One of the mibs imported caused problems. Deleting them solved the issue.

No, I would like to get a notification with every trap, regardless what state it is in.

I've configured the snmp trap receiver and am getting the traps in nagiosxi. When it goes in critical state I get an alert, when it recovers I get an alert too. But when it sends a normal trap like UPS has passed self-check then I don't get anything.

I'm hopelessly behind with the updates of NagiosXI. I'm still on version 1.8 and want to update to the latest version. Do I need to download version 1.9 to 2.4 to update to the correct version or can I use the 2.4 installer package and update with that?

Not really. Perhaps a check to see if the localhost gets an IP would be sufficient
