NagiosXI - install on new OS or OVA install
Have been using NagiosXI for quite a number of years. Decided to update from 5.11.3 to latest as we just renewed support, but RedHat 7.9 is EOL for it. In updating its just been to wget the upgrade.sh script and go from there for a long while. If we deploy a new XI using the OVA is the upgrade proce...

MRTG and graphs not showing any data
Have had NagiosXI for years now and for the most part has been ok for alerting, but not really used it for graphing bandwidth all that much as we roll our own via MRTG/SNMP directly as we control the look completely via rrdtool. And we have some Cacti stuff too. Nagios version 5.11.3 I was recently ...

Re: Upgrade/Migrate to new Server
I followed the guides and was able to update and migrate to the new server. had to shutdown the server for the last few weeks and just revisited it today. VM was powered on and it came up, within a few mins got inundated with a hundred alerts as the new server is still on a new IP and have not migra...

Re: Upgrade/Migrate to new Server
have spun up a new RHEL 7.9 VM, should it be fully updated before installing XI?
Or can the base OS from this install be used? The ISO is from about Aug/2020. 3.10.0-1160.el7.x86_64
Thanks.

Re: Upgrade/Migrate to new Server
Its a 64-bit system. So I'll get the VM guys to spin up a new RHEL 7.9 system and install the older XI onto that, import the config file as per docs and then upgrade XI from that. I was trying to avoid having to spin up a bare RHEL system and then Nagios on top of that and thought I'd could just do ...

Upgrade/Migrate to new Server
Old NagiosXI server, 5.7.5. It was installed long time ago from the prebuilt image from Nagios.com and was like 5.6 or 5.5 at the time. It has undergone a few upgrades since being installed. Base OS on the old server is CentOS release 6.8 (Final) with XI being 5.7.5. I cannot upgrade this any longer...

Re: Upgrade from 5.7.3 to latest
<Cut top> After the new OS is setup, here are instructions to install XI on the new server. Run the following as root. cd /tmp rm -rf nagiosxi xi*.tar.gz wget https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/5/xi-5.7.5.tar.gz tar xzf xi-5.7.5.tar.gz cd /tmp/nagiosxi ./fullinstall After the new server i...

Re: Upgrade from 5.7.3 to latest
So after some digging around I solved this upgrade issue. First as the problem seemed to be with the baseurl in the CentOS-Base.repo looking it over: [base] name=CentOS-$releasever - Base mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os&infra=$infra bas...

Monitor Fujitsu L100/Flashwave/T300/T310
Hi. I was not involved in the decisions on this product but was pulled into it long after the fact. Now as the server/sysadmin guy who handles well, server admin stuff, I had to build out a brand new physical server for ESXi and build three RHEL VM's needed for managing this Fujitsu gear. There are ...
