that did it and now that I am in I can change the root password, but how to enable ssh for nagios admin so I don't have to log in as root...thanks

credentials for logging in to a terminal session
I am able to log in using the web interface. I need to be able to open a terminal session and cannot get past the login window. I tried using root and nagios admin with the same passwords I have set on the web interface and it is not being accepted. How can I opaen a terminal session.

Yes. And yes and I humbly understand. But what about the linux hosts. They are ll critical and I would think they would just work since nrpe is already functioning

I cleared the configuration problem by clearing services and then. Deleting the host. That is a bit cumbersome because you can't delete more than on service at a time through the gui. This is the text file of the error. I do want to monitor this host. but it shows up in all the configuration fails. Even for the linux server. How do I clear this and start out clean.

We do not use a passord or other authentication for nsclient, however as nsclient communicates using nrpe and this is secure, and the new server is not part of the LDAP/domain, and I am only using users from the nagiosxi host, how will I pass npre securely through?
