Default Flap Detection threshold

Post by emartine »

What is the default flap detection threshold? In other words, if I turn on Flap detection enabled on a service and I don't add low flap or high flap thresholds, what are the default low flap and high flap threshold?

According to the service definitions, if you set it to 0 (or, I am assuming, leave it blank) then the system-wide defaults will be used. They are set in nagios.cfg and are called:

Code: Select all

high_host_flap_threshold=20.0
high_service_flap_threshold=20.0
low_host_flap_threshold=5.0
low_service_flap_threshold=5.0
