Nagios and EMC Networker

Good Morning,

DOes anyone knwo of a simple way to monitor EMC Networker backups with nagios (if a nightly backup fails.. need to insert new tapes into the tape library).. etc.. etc.?

any information would be greatly appreciated.

Start by looking through the Exchange for plugins of interest:

If you want to do more than just alert, you will have to write some event handlers.

I don't see any that specify they work with version 8. You could go 1 of 2 routes:

1) Try it in your environment and see if it works. Very often major versions of software and hardware are still backwards compatible with Nagios plugins

2) Contact the authors of some of the plugins to see if they have advice regarding the newer version of Networker

I tried but only half of the features worked and other ones did not.
