Thanks indeed for the feedback. But we have decided not to implement a DNS round robin (yet at least).
I was wondering if there is a simple way, like altering an entry to a config file for example, so that in the alert email the link to contain the IP of the server.

As written in my original response to your posting, yes:
You can configure this in the administration section of NLS. Administration | Global Settings, then change the cluster hostname.
"hostname" can be an IP address, as well. This will change what shows up in the emails.
