I have been looking at this screen for a few hours after an upgrade:
The other system in the cluster upgraded just fine instantly...
I've restarted elasticsearch, logstash, kibana multiple times still nothing.
Also this is happening even though the firewall is off......

You need to remove your old version of knapsack to start the ES database. The upgrade script is supposed to automate the removal - I'm not sure why it didn't in your case.
