I cannot remove a contactgroup from contact groups for a service. I traced templates all the way back, there are no servicegroups. I can't figure out where it's coming from. It appears to perhaps be in the database. I looked through the files and it appears in objects.cache. I cannot find a configuration file in nagios/etc that would create what is in objects.cache.
????
Thanks,
Dale

Re: Cannot remove hostgroup from notification in service
I stopped nagios, deleted objects.cache and restarted. All is as it should be.
Seems a bit awkward a process, though. Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks,
Dale

Re: Cannot remove hostgroup from notification in service
One should be able to simply complete this task via the UI, taking the route you describe is rather clunky and should not be necessary.
Via UI:
Configure > Core Config Manager > Services...once you select the service in which you want to alter, you'll be brought to the 'Service Management' window. Click on the 'Alert Settings ' tab, then 'Manage Contact groups'
--Was this the area where you originally tried to remove the contact group? If not, please let us know where.
--Did you encounter any errors along the way? If so, please provide a screenshot or text of such.
