Performance degraded after Reoccurring Downtime setup

So, TIL the difference between reoccurring and recurring.
I definitely need help with recurring downtime, not reoccurring downtime.

I believe I found the cause.

Here are my recurring downtime windows

Previously, I had the highlighted option checked, and on the Incident Management > Scheduled Downtime page there was an item for every host and every service. So about 6200 items. Since unchecking that, only items for hosts are listed on that page (1/10th the previous number). Nagios is running great.

Now, I've noticed that if I schedule downtime for a host on a one-off basis, I can choose the "schedule downtime for this host" option on the advanced tab of the host and it will keep all notification silenced for the host and all services (all services are inherited from host groups in my environment). Is it safe to assume this behavior will be the same for my recurring downtime with that box unchecked?

If so, let me know, then lock it up.

Without seeing your specific configs, I believe this will depend on implied inheritance rules:

That definitely sounds like what you are describing, but I'll let you confirm/deny.

Thanks. I'm going to re-read that once I have a bit more time to dedicate to it, but I can confirm all of my recurring downtime is functioning as expected.
