the error is:

I dont know the answer to the ldap software question

Did you try changing the encryption to TLS?
What about if you disable encryption and try to go over port 389, does it work then?
Might also want to try TLS over port 389 since that's also possible.

ok exremely, extremely really extremely stupid question. In the pdf it says:"

sigh can believe im asking this.
does that mean to wipe out the info between those lines?

well I did everything you suggested and it still gives me that connection error.
