Then apply configuration and once it's complete send us the entire output of the tail command, I want to make sure it's actually restarting it properly.
I've found that when snmptt has problems, a restart shows the stop part failed. I just restarted on two systems and the stop phase was ok. Thus, the restart in the nagios init script solved the problem. The init script plus monitoring the spool dir should be sufficient so I'm confused on what the issue is now.
