As @tgriep mentioned, did 4.0.2 work for you? We're a bit limited on what can be done at this point since there isn't a fix yet.

Installation of this method does not work in version 4.2.1

Well, at this point, we will have to wait and see if the bug gets fixed for Solaris 11 installs.
