Logstash - "None of the configured nodes are available"

So far simply increasing the # of CPU's from 2 to 4 has alleviated this issue. I'm still thinking of tuning this cluster a bit more.

Also on my previous question about the logstash service running on the second node. Do i need it running if I am only sending messages to the primary? Thank you.

Not necessarily, though every time you "Apply Configuration" it will start back up on the other instance. You'd have to do "Instance Specific" configurations to avoid that.
