Re: The Virtual machine is not coming up
if the above doesn't work as @scottwilkerson mentioned i think it could be the hypervisor you're using. what is it? what file did you attempt to open with it?

There are instructions for both options at https://www.nagios.com/downloads/nagios-xi/microsoft/
Did you follow those instructions?

@scottwilkerson Thank you for your reply I did click and the screen it active but nothing appears.
@tacolover101 I am using Hyper-V Manager, Microsoft Corporation, Version: 6.2.9200.16384 and I download the Hyper-V (.vhd) file from the site that has been mentioned by dwhitfield.

Re: The Virtual machine is not coming up
If you shut it down and power it up, do you see anything in the console?
If not, try re-downloading the image and see if it happens again when you start the virtual machine.

Re: The Virtual machine is not coming up
The network card driver in some versions of Hyper-V is not compatible with the Linux Kernel and that is why you are not getting an IP address, etc..
To fix this, power off the OS and remove the network card from Hyper-V and add the Legacy Adaptor.
Then power up the system and it should find the network driver and assign an IP.
For more detailed instructions, take a look at this link I found.

Re: The Virtual machine is not coming up
Thank you, I did that and still it is not getting IP from DHCP server. could you help me set static IP address.
Re: The Virtual machine is not coming up
The link below is a KB article with the instructions for setting up a Static IP address on the server.
https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/c ... dress.html
Login to the console and run the ifconfig command, if you do not see a ethernet device there, then you still need to edit the driver in Hyper-V to use the Legacy driver and reboot the server.
