Waiting for verification configuration.... hangs

New to Nagios XI.
Brand new install of Nagios XI 5.4.8 in the web UI I am going through the configuration wizard using the NCPA and the UI is able to connect to the host I want to monitor but when I click finish it hangs on the "Waiting for verification configuration......." step.

I don't get a timeout or failure notification. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Could you run this command and post the output?
I'd like to see if there's a config error.
