I recently upgraded our NagiosXI installation to version 5.4.12 and noticed an issue with excluding a particular service check on hostgroups. In prior versions we would exclude groups of servers such as Netback in the embedded image from an Anti-Virus check by adding the host-group to the check and checking the check box with an exclamation mark next to the group for the exclusion. I attempted to add another group to be excluded for our backup solution and noticed that the functionality is missing. If the checkbox was present, every group but the Windows Servers would be checked. If I edit the config file manually I can exclude the group but if the XI interface is restarted again by another admin, the change is lost. I also verified on a vanilla test sever that is on 5.4.12 that has similar issue. Is this a know issue and what is the correct method of manually editing the config file to make the needed change persistent as workaround? Thanks
Missing exclamation button for excluding Hostgroups
I have been troubleshooting the issue further. It appears that if I install from scratch no matter what version, the issue is not present. However if I restore from a backup the issue is present where the checkbox is missing. I'm not sure when the issue started but I assume it began when upgraded to 5.4.12.
Awesome, glad it is not just me. I upgraded from 5.4.11 to 5.4.12. When I restored the backup on 5.4.11 I had the same issue but I assume this is due to the backup being taken when the system was at 5.4.12. The downgrade was only temporary as I have restored the VM snapshot to its original configuration.
