How to get correct RAM readings with MEMUSE

Post by dlukinski »

Hello Nagios Support

NSclient (0.4.4.15) provides incorrect RAM readings adding Physical RAM and PAGE together

How to overcome this NAGIOS XI problem (widespread) ?

Thank you

Is the issue that the total is incorrect, or that you do not want to include the Page File in the total? If it is the former, please provide the output and the results you would expect. If it is the latter, this is expected behavior for that check - https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... =7&t=24911

We can help you work through either case, but please let us know which it is so we can proceed.

We have to see only Physical RAM, not the commited, which includes PAGE.

This is very important for us and we have SLA-bound checks and Reports which should only show Physical RAM utilization

Do we actually edit command.cfg in XI ? any way not to define RAM thresholds in nrpe command?

The link provided in the last post mentioned using check_nrpe with checkmem to get the physical memory usage. This is detailed a bit more in the link as well as https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... l-169.html .
