Can you post the output from:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/redhat-release
Also, can you post some of the actual log output from the installer so we can get a better idea as to where it's failing?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)

i think same server being monitored under nagioscore ?

did you check is this possible under nagioscore ?
below is out of of /etc/xinete.d/nrpe
default: on
# description: NRPE (Nagios Remote Plugin Executor)
service nrpe
{
flags = REUSE
socket_type = stream
port = 5666
wait = no
user = nagios
group = nagios
server = /usr/local/nagios/bin/nrpe
server_args = -c /usr/local/nagios/etc/nrpe.cfg --inetd
log_on_failure += USERID
disable = no
only_from = nagioscoreip nagiosxiip

can you pls. check it out this because i want to monitor 50 servers of 5.7 version & we have bought nagiosxi license.
let me know possibilities.

RHEL 5.7 is supported, but it seems something went wrong in the OS detection code. As a temporary workaround since you already indicated the type of system you're running on, try running the following commands:

Code: Select all

# cd linux-nrpe-agent/
# ./init.sh
# ./xivar distro RedHatEnterpriseLinux
# ./xivar dist el5
# ./xivar version 5.7
# ./xivar ver 5
# ./xivar architecture `uname -m`
# [ `uname -m` = i686 ] && ./xivar arch i386
Then delete line 4 in the fullinstall file (it should say './init.sh') and run the installer again.

Also, it would help us fix this error in the future if you could post the output of this command:

Code: Select all

lsb_release -a

Ok, looks like you have Oracle Linux, not Redhat or CentOS...

You may want to try our static agent

This would probably be easiest, and we have a general Linux SNMP wizard you can use
http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Ad ... rd/details

Add it to your XI system by going to Admin -> Manage Config Wizards
