deadpool report email frequency

Post by IT-OPS-SYS »

how can i reduce the frequency of the email from nagios related to Nagios Deadpool Report.

I am getting 100 email per day related to the Nagios deadpool report. I would require 1 per day.

Hello @IT-OPS-SYS

Email notifications are sent based on the following criteria.
Email notifications will be sent when the host or service has been added to the deadpool or when they have been deactivated/deleted from the Nagios XI config.
Currently, there isn't the option to create a daily summary email. You can could increase the Stage 1 and Stage 2 time requirements to make it more difficult for host or services to get add to the deadpool or deleted/deactivated.

i got that logic of getting the alert but in my case i am getting the email for the same content without any further service/host being added to the pool.

after every 1 minute I am getting the same email with the same list of services/hosts that are being added to the deadpool. how can we reduce the duplicity in the email content.

Hello @IT-OPS-SYS,

So what is happening here there is a configuration dependency preventing the same list of services/hosts from being deactivated and Nagios XI is restoring the previous configuration snapshot and the process starts all over again.

You'll need to look at the list of services/hosts and perform a manual deactivation, and this should take care of the duplicate messages. Hosts and Services can be deactivated in the CCM by going to Configure > CCM > Monitoring > Host or Service and then search for the host or service, click on it and uncheck the Active option from Common Settings.
