I think the clue here is the word "usage" in the description field. It looks like you may have misconfigured the new service check and it's just dumping the help text and exiting with unknown.
Are you able to provide the Nagios configuration for the service that isn't working, a disk service that is working and the command_definition that you are using with those two services?
