log files under /usr/local/nagiosxi/var

Post by anilgupta »

Team,

Few log files under /usr/local/nagiosxi/var have grown as big as 9GB.

I would like to know what is significance of these files and can it be rotated after certain intervals. Additionally, what should be the retention policy for these files?

These log files are used for reporting and the event log feature of Nagios. Deleting these files means that this data won't be available for reports, hence retain them for as long as you want to run reports against them.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
