Notification Frequency

Post by nshah »

Hi guys,

Is there is a way to change the notification frequency like-

1) First notification- 1 min after an issue
2) 2nd,3rd and fourth notification - in the frequency of 30 min
3) 5th and onwards- in the frequency of 12 hr.

I was able to make it work for steps 1 and 2. I just want a notification to send to a respected person but don't want to annoy by sending every 30min after 1st notification.

Thank you

Hi,

I believe the Service Escalation feature in Nagios XI would work out well in this example. Notification Escalations will allow you to adjust the number and interval of the notifications to a specific contact or contact group.

The following guide is pretty helpful in explaining how to set these up.

Understanding Notification Escalations

There's also a built-in Wizard in XI, just go to Configure > Tools > Escalation Wizard

Let me know if have any questions or need any assistance.

Hi,
Thank you! Is that the only way to do it?
Your welcome. That's probably going to work best for you in this case. You can set a first notification delay, but after that, all future notifications will be base on the notification interval specified.
