I am trying to add the following to nagios, what would be the best way to go about doing this so.
[root@test ~]# caagent status
Checking the Arcserve Backup Universal Agent process... It is RUNNING (pid=4572).

There are some arcserve plugins on the Exchange site:

The first one listed looks like the one that is closest to what you are looking for. We have a guide on our knowledgebase to assist with configuration Third-Party Plugins.

If none of those plugins are suitable for you, you can set up a check for that particular Linux process
by following:
