Inplace upgrade Nagios server from RHEL7 to RHEL8 using leapp tool

Post by fripoll »

Hi,
Has anyone had success upgrading nagios server installed on RHEL7 to RHEL8 using leapp tool from RedHat ?

Maybe after SO upgrade is complete, one could use "restore_repair.sh" script to recompile binaries to those according to RHEL8. But we haven't tried yet..

Any thoughts or hints ??

Thank you in advance,
Cheers

Thanks for reaching out @fripoll,

I personally haven't tried using it. I would double check you have a good backup and restore method before attempting it. Maybe try it out on a test server first. Worst case scenario, you can always try migrating

Honestly, I'd recommend the migration path over anything else. It's Nagios recommended, and in a bind our support can help you out with it.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
