Hi
I am attempting to setup sms notifications from Nagios XI 2024R1
my sms gateway requires a auth code to be sent as the subject
I have setup my sms template to provide this code
my problem is that i am not recieving the verification sms and i dont know how to check what the message is that is sent from nagios for the verification
/usr/local/nagiosxi/tmp/phpmailer.log
[01-23-2024 09:35:18] Message sent! (method=smtp;host=relay.correct.local;port=25;security=none), Referer: send_user_phone_vkey()
sending a email from the nagios host to number@gateway with the code as subject works correctly
normal email notifications works correctly
SMS verification issue
Re: SMS verification issue
Hey @haszak
Is this something that worked for you prior to XI 2024R1? If not could you give us what settings you have for admin -> email settings?
I'll link some documentation that may help also I found a post that may be the same issue that may help.

Re: SMS verification issue
I get how frustrating SMS verification issues can be—it’s like hitting a brick wall when you’re just trying to get something done. Sometimes, SMS verification doesn’t work because the platform restricts VoIP or internet-based numbers.

Re: SMS verification issue
Sometimes it’s not even the gateway, it’s just the number you’re using that silently blocks things. I’ve used a virtual number from https://anonymsms.com before just to check if the SMS is going out at all. Helped me figure out if the issue was on my side or theirs.

Re: SMS verification issue
This isn't a solution, but a workaround so ignore if you prefer.
You can email a mobile number (<number>@carrier.com) and it will arrive as a text. The internet can provide the values for the mobile service.
