Alerting is not working to its potential.
I am receiving email alerts ONLY from the email address that was set in
>configure
>my account settings
>Account information
'email address' field
I have set-up multiple users that should receive emails & they do not receive any alerts.

I would recommend following the steps, outlined on our wiki page for troubleshooting notification problems:

Note: Each user in Nagios XI can set his/her notification preferences. You have to make sure that notifications for this user are enabled, that the correct email address is entered, etc. You can masquerade as this user (Admin->Manage Users), then click on the username in the upper right corner (next to: Logged in as:"), and try to send a test notification. This should be a good starting point.
