Incorrect Host and Service Status

Post by stewartp »

Hi

I am getting some issues with a few remote windows servers that I monitor using NSCLIENT++. I monitor both host and services, but every so often, the host shows as being down, or services keep showing as being in error. When I log onto the server, everything is fine.

The time on my Nagios XI server is correct, as are all the remote servers. Also, if an error did occur, I correct it, and the error keeps showing as OK, then Faulty, then OK for up to 24 hours.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like it could be flapping. You may want to increase the number of retries before a hard state change. Check the servers load as well, as heavy load could interfere with timely checks.
